Like the other two books I've downloaded by the same author, (A bit of String and Gator Goes By Bike), Up for Days is formatted properly so it takes up the entire screen in landscape mode, so is like reading an actual physical open book where you see both the left and right pages at once. The text and illustrations therefore appear on the pages together like they should, unlike a lot of Kindle picture book authors who can't be bothered to take the time to format their work and reading them is like a mess. I always like to take the time to acknowledge those who care enough about their readers and their own work to make sure everyone enjoys it to the fullest potential.In this one a kid named Jeffrey can't get to sleep and his mother keeps having to come into his room in response to the noise. He believe various creatures and characters are performing tasks. Of course his mother finds nothing and blames things like the furnace vent. But what if she's wrong?

simple story line written in simple language... got newly independent readers
Ok this was not what I expected, however I did enjoy it and it was a perfect break inbetween the other books I am reading.
The book is perfect for children and the illustrations are lovely. Easy to interact and understandable.

I really enjoyed this story. I'm an adult that never got over my love for picture books, so I like checking out new authors. I believe this is Hopson's second book, so I will look for the first. It's a nice simple story with a cute twist. I really enjoyed the art and think that very young children would like this as a bedtime story.
I received a mobi.file for this book from the author through the giveaway he had on LibraryThing, and the following is my honest opinion.
Keenan Hopson apparently has allowed his inner-child to help him in the writing of this picture book. What child hasn’t ever imagined there had something in their room which was keeping them awake and unable to go to sleep. The slightest sound caused their imagination to run wild and to imagine it had been something outrageous. And since you’ve been a child once like be, you can relate to what’s going on with Jeffrey.
With each noise, Jeffrey imagined there had been something in his room, first it had been cowboys, then an alien on the roof. Each time he heard one, his mother had to show him it had been something else. In the end, after checking his room one more time, Jeffrey and his mother said goodnight to each other; she closed his bedroom door, and heard different voices saying goodnight back.
I usually don’t give away spoilers, but since everyone reading this would be an adult as well as a parent, I wanted them to know what kind of imaginative story their child would be reading; an imaginative story my inner-child loved reading more than once, which why I’ve given this book 5 STARS.
It's my son's favorite new book. We had to read it 5x in a row the first time and now it's a stable at bedtime. Story is great and unique and the illustrations are amazing!!
Very clever twist in the end - imagination is not always a blessing so here we learn that too much can be inconvenient ... Unless...
Cute story with fun illustrations that helps kids on those nights when little things seem to be a bit too scary. The author does a great job tackling the subject of scary nights and a vivid imagination with his own vivid imagination that makes the nights a little less scary.
